Based on a theory first published in 1897 by Dollar & Wheatley, and acknowledged in recent years as a shoeing method that can positively aid some horses, the Pegasus Natural Breakover shoe has been designed and developed by Pegasus working in conjunction with Master Farriers, Jim and Allan Ferrie.
The natural breakover shoe design benefits are, safed off toe round to quarters, allowing breakover to suit animal conformations and ability to shorten the “Lever arm” of the anterior stride phase, thereby reducing pull and stress on the deep flexor tendon insertion point on P3 and surrounding ligamentous and bursal structures.
The shoes are manufactured from 4 sections of fullered concave steel, with a size range from 4 to 6 inch. |
